Robert Biggerstaff received his undergraduate degree (AB) from Cornell University with a major in government. He attended Cornell with a full US Naval scholarship and was commissioned in the United States Navy from which he was honorably discharged as a Lieutenant. He received his law degree (JD) cum laude from Albany Law School. There he was a member of the Law Review and the Justinian Society. He was counsel to the chairman of the NYS Assembly Standing Committee on Insurance. He is admitted to practice before all New York State Courts and before the US District Court for the Northern District of New York. He is a registered lobbyist and has represented numerous clients in the fields of education, banking, health, environment, transportation and energy. He has participated in the drafting and development of numerous pieces of major state legislation including the NYS Budget many of which have been enacted into law. He has extensive experience with major state civil litigation and appeals, including complex multiparty constitutional litigation against the State. He has also represented numerous lending institutions, trustees, borrowers, underwriters and issuers in various real estate based transactions and general obligations/revenue bond issues.  He has extensive experience in commercial real estate and tax exempt bond closings including complex conduit financings through State and local public authorities. He also has represented lenders and other creditors in connection with mortgage foreclosures, business workouts and corporate reorganizations. He was an adjunct professor at Albany Law School, a member of the US Bankruptcy Judge Fitness and Screening Panel for the Northern District of NY and is a member of the NYS Bar Association and the Albany County Bar Association. He was formerly a partner at the Albany, NY firm of DeGraff, Foy and Kunz, LLP. He is a partner in the firm.

Laura Biggerstaff received her undergraduate degree (BS) in two and one half years from Cornell University and her law degree (JD) summa cum laude from Albany Law School. There she received numerous merit scholarships and academic awards and was a member of the Justinian Society. She was admitted to the New York State bar in 2003. She is admitted to practice before all State Courts and before the US District Court for the Northern District of New York. She was a law clerk at the Appellate Division, Third Department in 2003. Since that time she has been extensively involved in major State civil litigation and appellate practice, including complex multiparty constitutional litigation against the State. She has been involved in various real estate based transactions and tax exempt revenue bond issue closings including complex conduit financings through the NYS Dormitory Authority and local public authorities. She is a registered lobbyist and has represented numerous clients in the fields of education, environment and energy. She was formerly an associate at the Albany, NY firm of DeGraff, Foy and Kunz, LLP and is a member of the NYS Bar Association. She is a partner in the firm.
